News of the resent Sunny Isles City Commission meeting that took place to discuss the proposal for a newly planned Palace at Acqualina luxury towers to be raised just north of Acqualina Ocean Residences was approved overwhelmingly for the project. Sunny Isles City Commission reviewed a zoning situation without any variances requested by the builder, Trump.

The 5.6-acre site at 17901 Collins Avenue currently home to Golden Strand timeshare complex will become a site on which the twin towers Palazzo Di Acqualina will rise. Build in 1946 Golden Strand is located on prime beachfront location. Popular with tourists and timeshare owners it has been a destination visited by thousands over the decades of its existence.

With great sales success of the currently being built Mansion at Acqualina, Jules Trump is looking to expand the Acqualina name by adding another two high story high rise towers that will offer only limited ocean front residences. Current zoning permits a maximum 448 units on current site, but instead, developer elected to only build 190 luxury condo villas at Palazzo Di Acqualina with 95 units per tower rising 649 feet above sea level.

No one knows what the purchase price is at this time, but rumor has it Jules Trump paid over $100mil for the property and expects to finalize the deal around mid-2017. Developing the property to a maximum FAR permitted 1,089,300 sq/ft and taking it up to a maximum permitted top of aircraft warning lights.

At this point, it is too soon to know all the details about the project. However local firm of Cohen Freedman Encinosa & Associates responsible for the design of the first two Acqualina’s will be used by Jules Trump to carry on the Acqualina tradition.
